Sorry for the lack of recent updates. I was in a class all last week, along with the holiday weekend has kept me very busy!
I have begun serious work on a new phase of Skortched Urf’ Studios marketing and business strategy; more details to follow soon.
I have also continued to work on our new releases and have a pre-view of a few up-coming products:

The d20 Modern game introduced an occupation system that adds minor advantages to characters while providing a lot depth. Characters have a background, and they gain benefits from their occupation past making a simple skill roll.
Unfortunately, the occupations are very specific to the modern setting, as most reference skills and feats that don’t translate well to the fantasy setting. This profession system is the Fantasy version of the modern occupation system. It fleshes out the things a character’s profession skill stands for, and gives the character’s life before she became an adventurer a little more meaning.
The occupations presented in this PDF include:
Academic Wizard
Adventurer
City Guard
Clergy
Farmer
Hedge Wizard
Hospitality Worker
Noble
Pickpocket
Sailor
Samanera
Squire
Troubadour
And
Woodsman
The second section of this PDF deals with Astrological signs and a way to introduce them into your campaign.
The sign under which a person was born can be very significant. The fact that practically every newspaper published in the US has a horoscope section speaks to the fact that even if we don’t believe that the position of the stars effects us, we’d very much like to.
The mechanism for including astrology into your games is simple by design. Two moons, Luna and Io, travel through the thirteen zodiac houses. The moon Luna grants a minor bonus when it is in a character’s house, and the moon Io bestows a minor penalty. Several methods of tracking the moon’s location during a given adventure are also presented.
Included in the sales listing is a full Flash Demo of this product, as well as a Publisher Audio Commentary. Avaliable at all the ENWorld download Shop and Your Games Now !

Adventuring can be dangerous. That’s why every treasure-hunter needs the proper equipment. With the introduction of our “Adventurer Essentials” line we will examine the items that every adventurer needs to ensure he makes it back alive for the next adventure. Time-tested, and proven by countless dungeon crawls and wilderness expeditions, these are the essentials you’ll need to survive the dangers ahead.
The next piece of essential gear covered in the “Adventurer Essentials” line is the humble Torch. In this PDF we take a brief look at the history of the Torch, the various woods used in Torch construction and the benefits of each including a special wood not native to this plane from which Masterwork Torches are made. A brief discussion of improvised Torches is also presented, as well as several magical torches including the Orc Pillage Flame, the Detonation Torch, Pelnor’s Powder Packs (a collection of magical powders designed to unleash their magic when thrown on an open flame), and three new spells. Written by Bret Boyd, the same author that brought you the popular “Behind the Spells” series from Ronin Arts. Don’t leave for your next adventure without the essentials!

Testing the ability to do a product demo page. I want to give people a view of the product, some descriptive text as well as an audio commentary about the product.

There are many who worship the Gods and are granted power by them. Some, however, are granted power beyond the God’s other servants because of the strength of their devotion, their ability to surrender to their deity’s will. These favored servants are guided and protected by the deity’s most favored servants of all: Angels.
An Angelic Vessel acts as a host and conduit for the power of an Angel. This form of surrender grants the conduit protection, strength, and even the ability to channel the Angel’s essence for short periods of time. It comes at a cost, however: the Angelic vessel must walk a narrow path, and must always seek to act according to the wishes of his deity and the Angel who shares his body. Should he ever waver, even for a moment, the Angel leaves his body and strips him of his powers until he atones for his sins.

Released the Prince of Doggs; a Dept. 7 Advanced Class Update covering a modern-day Werewolf crossed with a Rap Star. Another one of the classes done by Chris Field. Remeber that name, he’s gonna be big in our little industry one day soon.

Working on the layout for the Nano-Robotic PAN’s Technology Update; I hope to get that out before the end of the month. I got some artwork back from Anthony…he is breaking speed records on the Mob Family illustrations. He also sent me a Purple Worm getting ready to chow down on a pair of unfortunate adventurers. (That picture is my new desktop background image!) The Worm and the Mob Family will make up the first releases of our new “Adventure Blocks” line. (One for Modern, another for Fantasy.) Both will see publication in February.

“Fear the Worm!”
My buddy in Canada just purchased an XBox 360! (He had to wear down his wife, who had forstalled him ever spending any money on anything remotely fun.) Welcome to the club! He’s been a core player in our Halo II sessions, and can now join us for Gears of War online. (And the Halo III Beta of course.)

Included in this fifty page PDF are:
-127 New Feats.*
-27 ForgeBlood Feats, allowing you to meld flesh and machine in a fantasy setting!
-House Rules, Published at Last! A collection of House Rules and updates tweaking the
D20 SRD for Chris Field’s campaing setting Aldura.
-A FREE copy of the OGL included with every purchase!
From the Author:
Many of the feats presented here were initially designed for use in a homebrewed campaign world called Aldura. Aldura is a high tech action adventure, inspired heavily by 80s action cartoons, but the new feats presented here may be used in any high power, techno-fantasy campaign with little or no modification. Other rules are variant house rules I’ve used to good effect in my home campaigns, solving many problems and minor annoyances with the current D20 Fantasy SRD. The variant item creation feats would be a good fit for Ebberon adventurers, while high level fighters, druids, bards and barbarians will thrill to unique new abilities like Pocket Battlespace, Raging Colossus and Breeder.
Many of the higher-end feats presented here require an action point expenditure to use, and might require a bit of modification if your home campaign doesn’t use action points. Adding an additional feat prerequisite, or requiring additional skill ranks go a long way to balancing these ‘superheroic’ feats without requiring a limited resource like action points for game balance.
The majority of the feats here were designed to provide better, more entertaining options for mid and high level players. Inspired by videogames, movies and everything from Greek mythology to Jack Kirby comics, these feats are designed to give every D&D character class and archetype some neat new tricks to bring to next weeks game.
*OK, sixteen of them are variant PHP feats, so sue me.
