Dropped by the local game store today an picked up the 4E core books.  Very nice production value!  They have come a looong way since 1st edition, thats for sure.  I haven’t gone through them in detail, but after I finish this post I will be snuggling up in bed with the Players Handbook.

I heard back from the Developer working on [SECRET PROJECT] last Friday.  The list of changes and features was completed!  I have been beta-testing it all weekend, and had a couple of other people knock it around as well and give me some feedback.  I have been working on some tweaks and changes for the last few hours via Dreamweaver and Fireworks.  (Did I mention how much I love the new Adobe Creative Suite?)  I will be unveiling a semi-private Beta test soon for the six people that read this blog and my local gaming groups.  I am very excited about this project, as it has been on the drawing board for a long time.

The home inspection went well.  The inspector was very good.  He even had a thermal camera!  He was checking out the house with “Predator Vision” looking for water leaks, missing insulation etc.

Work has been kicking my ass this week.  (Well, the last six months actually!) I had to be in by six am today, so I was up at 4:15 to get ready.  Thus I was in bed by seven PM last night.  But my boss is out on vacation for the next week so it will be quiet.  Speaking of work I actually had a nightmare last night about it!  A project I have been working on has run into multiple road-blocks to resolving the issues and my nightmare was about me being raked over the coals about it.  I woke up like “Damn, I better put that project to bed today!” So I did.  BIG load off my mind.

One day more until 4E.  I dropped my my local game store after the home inspection on Tuesday and picked up the 4E module Keep on the Shadowfell as well as the new Star Wars RPG book Threats of the Galaxy.  Looks like tomorrow or Saturday I’ll be picking up the core rule books for 4E.

I got an IM from my [SECRET PROJECT] developer this morning.  He fixed the items on the To Do list from last week and checked a few things related to the next few items.  Once those are done that should get [SECRET PROJECT] to where I can do some Beta Testing and get it rolled out for public consumption! I am still learning PHP so I can continue to add functionality and tweak the project without relying on flaky programmers ever again!  And since the Adobe Creative Suite also comes with Dreamweaver I am in good shape there.

Chris Field has been hard at work on several projects.  He sent me a mess of art for Psi-Watch, and a new project that I’ll have Anthony do some art for.  I have a few additional projects on deck as well.  I’ll get it in gear and get a few out this month.

The home purchase is coming along nicely.  I got some money from my dad on Friday.  The paperwork for withdrawing funds from my retirement program is being processed.  Our home inspection is tomorrow at 9:00am, so I’ll be accompanying the inspector through the house and noting everything.  (We don’t anticipate any issues since the person who was supposed to buy the house before us had already done an inspection before his financing fell through.)  My wife already started packing so there are boxes everywhere now.

I did it!  I ordered the Adobe Creative Suite Master collection.  Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Soundbooth, Premier and After Effects!  I am very excited to get my hands on the suite and start producing some cool stuff; both for the PDF’s as well as the product pre-views and also to start messing with some video stuff.  (A web-show perhapse?  Still need to find a spokes-hottie!)

4E hits on Friday, so I plan of stopping by my local game shop and picking it up.  I would rather they get a cut of the proceeds so I am going to buy it from my store rather than ordering via the web at Amazon or Buy.com.  Will do the same for my Warhammer 40K army as well.  My local store has treated me well over the years, so I want to return the favor.
